Point-of-Use Membrane Ultrafiltration¶

Hollow-fiber membrane ultrafiltration filters pass water through microscopic U-shaped tubes with 0.1-micron pore sizes, providing an absolute physical barrier against bacteria and protozoan cysts.
The Sawyer PointONE Filter System¶
- Pore Size: 0.1 Micron absolute (100 nanometers).

- 99.99999% (7-log) Bacteria removal (Cholera, Salmonella, E. coli, Typhoid).
- 99.9999% (6-log) Protozoa removal (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Amoeba).
- Gravity Bucket Setup: Easily attached to any standard 20-liter plastic bucket via a drilled hole and silicone gasket. Flow rate: 1 to 1.5 liters per minute under gravity.
- Maintenance & Backwashing: Backwashed using an included 60ml syringe with clean water to reverse flush trapped sediment from membrane pores.
- Lifespan: Rated for up to 10 years (1 million+ gallons) with regular cleaning.
- Unit Cost: ~$45 USD per complete household kit.
