Rainwater Harvesting System

Rainwater harvesting captures precipitation from roofs and ground catchments for potable and domestic use.

Core Components

  1. Rooftop Catchment: Metal, tile, or slate roofs (avoid toxic lead/asbestos paints).
  2. First-Flush Diverter: Diverts the initial 1–2 mm of dirty rainfall containing bird droppings and dust away from the main storage tank.
  3. Ferrocement Cisterns: Thin-wall concrete reinforced with woven wire mesh. Provides high structural tensile strength at 50% lower cost than masonry or plastic tanks.
