Technical Overview¶
A gravity-fed, 1000-liter modular greywater treatment system using IBC tanks with reed beds. Designed by Vigyan Ashram for schools or small households to recycle bathroom and kitchen water for non-potable reuse.

| Primary Mechanism | Greywater flows through a sludge tank to settle solids, then passes through four 500L IBC tanks arranged at a height to allow gravity flow. Each tank contains a reed bed that biologically breaks down organic pollutants (COD reduced to 20-100 mg/L, DO > 2). Two small 0.25 HP pumps circulate water as needed. Treated water is stored in a 1000L IBC tank. |
