An enhanced ceramic pot filter designed for electricity-deficient rural areas, combining a porous clay-sawdust composite with a copper mesh disinfectant layer to treat surface water and well water at the household level without external power.

Primary Mechanism Earthen pots fabricated from clay and sawdust in varying ratios (50:50, 60:40, 70:30) are fired to create porous ceramic media. Raw water passes through the ceramic wall, which reduces turbidity and TDS by physical straining and adsorption. The water then contacts a copper mesh layer that acts as a disinfectant. Laboratory testing showed the 50:50 model removed up to 89% turbidity and 72.35% TDS from lake water, with complete elimination of E-coli across all models.
